Crease your leather in style and on your own terms with this high quality FLINT Adjustable Creaser. The creasing blade on this leathercraft tool is 1.2mm thick, leaving a midsize impression. This crease is excellent for decorative crease lines, or creating an impressions perfect for diamond stitching lines where a gouge trough simply won't do. The jaws on this tool can go from closed to a maximum width of 7mm.
This model of adjustable creaser is available in three sizes (other sizes sold separately):
0.5mm thick creasing blade - For fine creasing and marking lines for creating a recess for lacing punch slots,1.2mm thick creasing blade - For mid-size creasing and for creating a recess for diamond stitching,1.5mm thick creasing blade - For broad creasing and for creating a recess for European style stitching.
Expertly made from high quality ebony wood, and a machined brass ferrule, the business end of this tool is forged from 304 Stainless Steel. With its high nickle and high chromium content, 304 stainless steel is not only one of the most successful and corrosion-proof stainless steels on the market today, but it also has excellent heat retention qualities. This means you can heat the creasing edge of this leathercraft tool with a gentle flame until somewhat hot to the touch, before applying it to your leather to ensure more lasting results.
To use this Craft Sha FLINT Leathercraft Tool Adjustable Creaser Leather Edge Folder 1.2mm, simply adjust the blades to the desired width, and holding your leather firmly on a hard, flat surface, press the creasing blade down vertically on the edge of your leather, while using the other blade to guide your creasing along the outside edge of your leather, moving your leathercraft tool back and forth. Ensure a firm and steady grip to avoid slipping which may result in unintentional and unwanted creases.
